Brief Description
The Swiss Line Directory (Swiss Line Directory) is atlas (see Instructions). The line numbers and part line numbers are listed here with a unique Swiss Line ID (SLNID). The data is based on the concession issued for the individual lines and includes the Swiss line number issued by the FOT (CHLNR). Since 17 March 2025, the data has been maintained independently in atlas by the transport companies.

Functional Description
The concept of lines in Switzerland is complex and is described in a document entitled Line model (v2.0) (in German only) of the system tasks Customer Information (SKI) is described in detail. The standard lines, MRP lines, temporary lines and operational lines as well as their various IDs are described there.
The implementation of the SLNID into customer information (timetable data) is currently being implemented and has not yet been fully completed.
The line data records are ‘versioned,’ i.e. it is important that you use the correct data record for the data reference:
- ‘Today’ (actual_date): Current status of the lines/sublines. There is one entry per line/subline.
- ‘Timetable change’ (future_timetable): Status of the lines/sectional lines on the first day of the upcoming timetable (timetable change). There is one entry per line/sectional line.
- ‘All versions’ (full): All versions of a line/partial line.

- The data can also be purchased via a separate interface of atlas: https://developer.sbb.ch/apis/atlas/information (swiss line directory)
