Historical and statistical data

In addition to timetable data, we offer various data sets for analysing public transport usage and network operation.

Statistical data is data that can primarily be used to analyse passengers, but is not relevant in terms of customer information.
Historical data differ from these in that they primarily represent past information.
In addition, we offer an archive of historical data (including timetables and actual data).

Services and data

The fare networks (e.g. Alliance SwissPass) provide statistics on their travelcards (GA Travelcard / Half Fare Travelcard) in Switzerland.
We also provide data to analyse the Passengers boarding and alighting and stations. Provided that the relevant railway undertaking provides the data.
The same requirements apply to the data for Number of trains on sections of the rail network, i.e. we don’t have a complete Swiss-wide data set there.
Finally, we also provide information on how often a certain means of transport on a line will stop at a stop: Stops at stop places.

From Forecast to History: The actual data

In addition to the real-time, forecast and event data we publish ‘actual data’ every day. These are the actual journeys made or the final forecast of the journeys made the previous day compared to the original timetable. While current deviations are considered ‘real time,’ they are converted into actual data once the operating day is over for subsequent analysis. When predicted delays, the specific Swiss thresholds for customer information apply.
