Netiquette

The following netiquette applies to all commenting and feedback functions on the open data platform for public transport in Switzerland in order to promote constructive communication.

 

Users will ensure that all interaction is respectful by

…neither provoking others nor allowing themselves to be provoked;

…communicating concisely about one topic at a time;

…identifying quotations as such and citing the relevant source;

…only uploading things for which they own the copyrights.

 

Personal opinions are important, as long as they

…respect the rules of netiquette;

…are backed up with arguments;

…are not based on sweeping generalisations, hearsay or suspicion

…are not anonymous.

 

The open data platform for public transport in Switzerland will never tolerate

…indecent, obscene, pornographic, threatening, discriminatory, racist, abusive or misleading content, or content that incites violence or degrades third parties;

…activities that have any form of negative impact on the platform;

…advertising, either for users’ own interests or those of third parties;

…mentioning the personal details of third parties or speaking on their behalf.

 

User content does not necessarily have to reflect the opinions of the open data platform for public transport in Switzerland. Furthermore, the platform reserves the right to delete content without notice if it violates the law, the terms of use or the rules of netiquette.
