In this Online-Meet-Up, we will show how real-time information and incident management systems (EMS) can be successfully integrated into leisure travel. We will use specific use cases to highlight current challenges, standards and solutions – with practical examples from the Grindelwald and Kandersteg region.
The Meet-Up will focus on the following topics:
- An overview of use cases: Where do we stand at the moment? What extensions are required to the technical industry standard? What solutions already exist? Where should development go – and by when can implementation be expected?
- Leisure travel – Update & insight into the workshop: What are operational consequences and in which situations do they offer passengers added value? In this context, we take a look at the SIRI SX standard and highlight the challenges and possible solutions for implementing it in leisure travel.
- Integration into GTFS and OJP: How can event and real-time data be integrated into formats such as GTFS and OJP 2.0? We discuss any necessary adjustments and show ways of implementing them in compliance with standards.
- Experience reports from practice: Jungfrau Railways and the Kandersteg–Oeschinen (GKO) gondola lift have already successfully published incident information. They provide insights into the technical and operational implementation – including the introduction of a new reservation system.
