27th April: Online Meet-Up – On-demand public transport services (DRT): Strategies and data standards for flexible mobility

In this Meet-Up, we analyse business models for on-demand transport (DRT) and show how these business models can be represented in data models. The focus is on the current implementation in Switzerland, where DRT is already represented in NeTEx, GTFS Flex and HRDF.

We will share practical experience from ongoing projects, compare these with international approaches and discuss the use of DRT in the Open Journey Planner (OJP), including real-time information. In addition, we will take a look at possible next steps towards reservation and booking.

A further focus will be on NeTEx 2.1 and the further development of DRT modelling beyond the current state. We will provide insights into ongoing work and discuss the changes and new possibilities this may bring for the future use of DRT.

The meet-up will focus on the following topics:

  • Analysis of business models for DRT and their representation in data models
  • Exchange of practical experience from Switzerland and international projects
  • Discussion of the use of DRT in the Open Journey Planner (OJP), including real-time information
