They are relevant for almost all interfaces.

Functional Description
The lists of transport modes and hints refer to the national industry standard customer information (only available in German and French). Details can be found in that document.
Tariff codes are used to distinguish in the timetable data different offers / tariffs of the same transport company. Examples are: – free busses – night busses or touristic offers with special tarification Tariff codes help the central distribution platform NOVA to create the correct offer for the journey chosen by the customer.
Technical Description
The Transportmodes file corresponds to the Verkehrsmittelkategorie/Catégorie de moyen de transport.
The TransportSubmodes file corresponds to the Angebotskategorie/Catégorie d’offre.
The Hints file corresponds to the Beförderungshinweise, Angebotshinweise und Informationen/Indications de transport, indications d’offre et informations.
